One account on someone that passed:

1) I read the Shon Harris All-in-One twice thoroughly. And, when something wasn't crystal clear, I used Wikipedia (don't forget to hilite and make index cards).

2) I thoroughly read "CISSP and CAP Prep Guide" by Krutz and did the questions on the CD.

3) I thoroughly read Mike Meyers' Passport and did the questions. This book is a bit outdated and hard to find (try your library), but gives an excellent review.

4) I thoroughly read the CISSP for Dummies and did all of the questions on the CD

5) I also completed all of the question in the "Exam Cram 2" questions book.

6) I skimmed the ISC2 book; it was difficult to sit and just read through, as many have stated.

7) I did the questions on the CCCure site.. I must say that I didn't do as well with these questions as I on the other tests from the various CD's.

Another Account:

Anyway here is what i did for the CISSP preparation which might help those who are pursuing for CISSP certification:

- Study Shon Harris All-in-One 4th Edition. Read it thoroughly twice.
- High level reading of ISC2 Official book - going quickly through chapters.
- MP3 by Shon Harris

For practice, i used
- Offcourse cccure exam questions
- Review Questions by Shon Harris - The MP3 and Quiz file by Shon Harris cost me around $300 ( <http://www.logicalsecurity.com/store/cissp-mp3-and-quiz-file.html> http://www.logicalsecurity.com/store/cissp-mp3-and-quiz-file.html) but
it helps me lot in understanding the concepts.

My study plan:

- Started with reading the Shon Harris All-in-One. I read this book thoroughly. As soon as i finish the reading of the chapter .... i will try to do the questions at the end of the chapter
  and also from cccure.
- After finishing reading the All-in-One, i started doing the review questions that comes with All-in-One and also i try to do the questions from cccure. I manage to achieve the score
of above 80 % on cccure.
- Then i started doing the Quiz file by shon harris. I manage to finish most of the domain with close to 80 %. Recommended passing score on these quiz files are 80 %. After this
i left with 2 weeks before my exam
- I decided to read the All-in-One again. And i highly recommend anyone to go through the material once u finish doing the quizes.
- The day before the exam i have to travel to Sydney so i didn't study.

The Exam:

The exam was confusing. The question are set in such a way that its very hard to say that i have done well on the exam. I thought i might failed and have make plan when to re-take my exam.
But lucky i passed. yahooooooo !!!!!!

...This is a great site: I'm not sure if you can look up previous posts to get more info. But, in the short time I've collected info, I know I gain more confidence in this forum.

That said, my apologies to Prakash; it seems that Clement knows more about you (than me) and feels you've provided more good. I hope we can count on your continued input.

Sincerely and Respectfully,

Leif Palmer

Hello Sir,

I’m looking to get information on the best course for me to take in earning my CISSP. I’ve never been good at taking tests so I’m looking for training that will best prepare me for the CISSP exam. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

V/r,

Gary

Good morning to all,

OK it is getting close to the end of the year but we must remain cool. There will be another one that will follow.

I agree the post is not directly related to the CISSP but as mentioned working for one of the big four is always an ACE within your deck of cards. Are they better, are they leaders, that remains to be discussed. One thing for sure they do have process and they do have their own methodology.

Prakash meant good in this case and will simply be more careful in the future.

Please let's carry on and not make a story bigger that it is.

It was not like selling Viagra :-)

Best regards

Clement

Hello all,

Thank you for your nice & harsh comments.

Well there are 2 sets of people, few of them like what happens around their industry & few who don't. As per my understanding people join this group to get help on CISSP as well share security related news. There are people who left this group just because they passed CISSP & there are people like me who are associated with this group from many years even after passing CISSP.

I shared this news as these are few of the best companies "Big 4" who majorly recruits CISSPs, I am sure people have their career aspirations & they are not doing CISSP just for the sake of it. Everyone needs money & good career. This news might help people to know current trends & updates of security industry.

NOTE for Group Owner: Dear Clement, If you think my mails do not make any sense please reject them right away, I will not feel bad as you are more like a friend to me rather then group owner.

Sorry to people who felt this mail as Spam. My best wishes to you all.
