Hi Everyone,

I joined the ISSA - Los Angeles Chapter on September. I am just so amazed
for the wealth of information assurance / cyber security that are available
in the community internationally and nationally.

I have met Mikhael Felker personally who is the education director for the
ISSA-LA Chapter. In fact, I was at the meeting which gave me a chance to
meet people in the IA field from different industries sector like credit
card, health care, and DOD etc. This was indeed an eye opening for me
since my IA experience has been in DOD environment.

ISSA - LA will be providing the CISSP Training on 11/16 through 11/19 at
UCLA Campus in Los Angeles, California. Please see the below Forwarded
message. This training may be useful information for people who are trying
to prepare for the exam. Including Clement, I have heard from several people
that Dr. Eugene Schultz is a great speaker.

Also, ISSA has on-going seminars (Webinar), presentations and conferences
given by vendors like CISCO and IBM. In fact, *Hal Tipton gave the
presentation called "Everything You Ever Wanted to know about CPEs" for
CISSP. These educational opportunities are excellent for the IA
practitioner who wants the knowledge and the CPE credits. For the ISSA -
LA, there is also the Community Outreach Program.
*
Sincerely,

Betty
