All,
I wanted to followup on Clement's excellent study strategy
suggestions. Some people find it works best to build context from the
outside in and other from the inside out. For myself, I took the later
path. Since I had recently taken and passed the CISM exam and also had
much experience with the management aspects of security, I chose to tackle
the most challenging technical domains first. Namely Cryptography,
Security Architecture, Access Control and Network. I found this approach
gave me the confidence that I could master the more technical content and
it also provided an important foundation for the other domains. Anyway, I
succeeded with approach. What's most important is to have a study strategy
that works for you.

I forgot to mention that with the huge amount of content, only repetition
will allow you to retain key points and it is key that you do not only
regurgitate information but that you attempt to UNDERSTAND the concepts.
You read your book on each of the domains as a first time exposure. You
attempt quizzes on that domain until you score consistently above 80% on
the
freepracticetests.org quizzes, then you move to your second domain.
While quizzing you must find out why you missed a question and why the best
answer is the best answer. I strongly recommend you visit the
www.cccure.org forums, there are always great discussions on hard topics
found within the CBK.

As you get closer to your exam, I recommend you review the top 6 domains
which are listed above in order of importance.
All the domains are important for the purpose of the exam but some are more
important. So far anyone I have seen who missed this exam did badly on two

This is just my recipe, other might use a different path. So far it has
been working very well.
